Vasona Lake County Park - University Entrance

Join us for a leisurely bird walk around the riparian woodlands, small lake, eucalyptus groves, and large manicured lawns of this highly-developed urban park in Los Gatos. We’ll keep a special lookout for early migrating warblers, including Yellow Warblers and Yellow-rumped Warblers, and lingering summer residents like Western Tanagers and Orioles.

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, mainly flat, paved path

Other Trip Notes: We are starting a little early (7:30AM) to avoid any heat that might occur later in the morning

Beginner Friendly, Family Friendly Ages 10 and up

Meet: at the west entrance along University Avenue (at Pepper Tree Lane), which is at latitude/longitude: (37.241799, -121.972504).

Directions: The west entrance is a pedestrian gate about 0.9 miles south of Lark Avenue on University Avenue (or about 1.1 miles north of Saratoga-Los Gatos Road along University Avenue). Park along University Avenue and we will meet just inside the gate near the Pepper Tree Picnic Area.

Facilities: Bathrooms, drinking water, and cell phone service are all available

Parking Type and Fees: free parking along University Avenue
