North Coyote Valley Conservation Area

The North Coyote Valley Conservation Area is nestled in the rich oak savanna landscape along Santa Teresa Blvd just north of Bailey Road. It is an important anchor for this fragile habitat and home to a number of important bird species. Craige Edgerton, a long-time Open Space Authority docent, will share his vast knowledge and experience of this area with bi-monthly trips to this property, which is also the focus area for the SCVAS Oak Savanna Community Science Project that was made possible with a grant from OSA. You can look forward to seeing signature species of Santa Clara's mid-county area including Yellow-billed Magpie, Lark Sparrow, Ferruginous Hawk (winter) and a variety of surprises to be found in the seasonal wetlands area and Fisher Creek.
