Lunchtime Bird Walk at Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant

Take a lunchtime stroll along weedy-edged, tule-lined canals, evaporation ponds, and salt ponds to look for egrets, herons, grebes, ducks, and terns. This trip is designed for beginners but all are welcome to attend.

Difficulty: 1 mile, flat dirt trail

Beginner Friendly, Family Friendly All Ages, Wheelchair Accessible

Meet: W Caribbean Dr, north-side, just west of Borregas Ave where the trail intersects the road

Directions: Note! New starting point! The parking lot on Carl Rd is closed. From CA-237 in Sunnyvale, exit Lawrence Expy/Caribbean Dr. Continue onto Caribbean Dr. In a little over one mile, you’ll pass Borregas Ave. After you’ve passed Borregas Ave, park anywhere along W Caribbean Dr. Trip leaders will be at the meeting point (the intersection of W Caribbean Dr and the Bay Trail). Facilities: ADA compliant porta-potty near start (usually unpleasant), drinking water

Parking: Paved street parking; no fees; ADA compliant spots available
