Calero Creek Trail Spring Birds (Stile Ranch Road entrance)

We will start at the Stile Ranch trailhead in the Almaden Valley of San Jose and look for hummingbirds and late sparrows. We will then follow the creek trail towards the IBM Almaden orchard looking for chaparral birds, riparian species, woodpeckers, and raptors. Possible birds include Warbling Vireo, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and Pacific-slope Flycatcher.

Trip Difficulty: 2.0 miles, flat dirt trail, no elevation gain

Meet: Parking lot on San Vicente Ave in San Jose

Directions: From CA-85 in San Jose, exit Almaden Expy south. Drive south for about 5 miles, turn right onto Harry Rd, take the next left onto McKean Rd and go 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Fortini Rd, in 0.6 miles turn left onto San Vicente Ave. Parking is on the right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.203347, -121.806014

Facilities: No facilities, nearest facilities at Calero County Park, Rancho San Vicente entrance
